Historic Lower Garden District in New Orleans

      Between Downtown New Orleans and the Garden District you will find the Lower Garden District Neighborhood. It will run from St. Charles Avenue to the Mississippi River. It is one of the more historic neighborhood of New Orleans outside of the French Quarter. It was one 5 plantations before 1820. The developement took a few years but was really taking off by 1840. It became part of New Orleans in the 1850's.
